Training

Riff Rodriguez is our in-house trainer since May 2007.  He had an extremely successful 2006 show season, finishing at the Nationals with the National Champion 4 year old Schooling Filly, Encantadora CC.  He also placed 5th in both Pleasure and Performance Schooling 3 year old Colts with San Cristobal de Tomaria, who is a son of our mare, La Romy Tres de Deidko, by Atrevido del Ocho.  Riff's other placements are as follows:  6th National Champion 3 year old Schooling Pleasure Filly with Electra de Molinero; Honorable Mention 3 year old Performance Filly with Mercedes de San Luis;  4th Grand National Champion Performance Mares and Fillies with Encantadora CC.  One of his students, Krystal Miller, placed 3rd National Champion Pleasure Sub-Junior Youth on the 3 year old filly, Electra de Molinero, and Mercedes de San Luis placed Honorable Mention in the Performance Mares and Fillies Championship, ridden by Jesica Hurni.  What a year!  In 2007, Riff only took three horses to Nationals, but came away with the 2007 4th National Champion Performance 4 Year Old Filly, Mercedes de San Luis.

Riff is not only a fantastic trainer, but he is also a great friend.  He will tell the truth about a horse, even if it is something we may not want to hear - but we still must hear it.  Our horses adore him and work very hard to please him, and he has built such a strong foundation with our 2003 crop that Scott won with his 3 year old filly, Andina RS in the AO Pleasure Mares Championship at Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 2006!  Scott is also hoping to show some of the other ones, but everything is a little at a time...one thing's for sure, you can never have too much of a good thing.  Most recently, in 2008, Riff and Scott both won their classes in the 3 year old schooling fillies classes at the March Hattiesburg show with our latest crop of fillies.  We are extremely pleased with the results we've achieved thus far with Riff, and we are looking forward to lots more happy and exciting memories.
